The term "adjustment" refers to the specific manipulation chiropractors apply to vertebrae
that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. The objective of the
chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, which results in an increased range of
motion, reduced nerve irritability and improved function.
The adjustment made by the chiropractor consists of a high velocity, short lever arm
thrust applied to a vertebra, which is often accompanied by an audible release of gas (joint
cavitation). The audible sound is caused by the release of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon
dioxide, which releases joint pressure (cavitation). The sensation is usually relieving, though
minor discomfort has been reported (that usually lasts for only a short time duration) if the
surrounding muscles are in spasm or the patient tenses up during the chiropractic procedure.
There are times when joint cavitation or cracking does not occur and this is often due to
either significant muscle splinting or the patient may not be adequately relaxed during the
chiropractic procedure. At times like this, it is sometimes best for the chiropractor use laser
therapy, have the patient rest, or do electrical stimulation and massage prior to attempting
Kinesio Taping was used by 75% of the Olympic athletes in the 2008 Beijing Games. It has the
ability to relax tight muscles and strengthen weak areas. This amazing product allows our body to heal
itself, create better lymph drainage, reduce swelling and promote accelerated healing time.
We all need some help now and then and Kinesio Taping is just the ticket to help many people heal
and even prevent injuries. It’s used nearly everywhere in professional, college and high school sports.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word that means "Universal Life Force" and is a form of
hands-on healing. It is a simple and gentle transference of universal life-force energy that permeates
The Reiki system is taught and practiced worldwide and used in over 100 hospitals across the U.S.
What Reiki does:
Decreases negative side effects of medications
Speeds recovery for medical therapies
Relieves anxiety and stress
Strengthens and supports the immune system
How Reiki Works
The Reiki practitioners are trained how to keep their own energy systems vibrating at a high level.
Through processes called resonance and entrainment the client's energy system will naturally seek
and try to match the higher frequency level of the practitioner. This allows the client to reach a deep
level of relaxation. At this relaxed level the client's own innate healing ability takes over thus the
practitioner is not the healer, the client is.
The K-Laser is leading the way in pain management, tissue repair, safe treatments and fast
During each painless treatment laser energy increases circulation drawing water, oxygen,
and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces
inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. As the injured area returns to normal
function is restored and pain is relieved.
Laser Therapy is proven to stimulate tissue repair and growth. This is a class IV (4) laser, is non-
surgical and can help with, but not limited to:
Tendonopathies, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome,
Myofascial trigger points,
Lateral Epicondylitis (tennis elbow),
Medial Epicondylitis (golfer's elbow),
Ligament sprains and muscle strains,
Repetitive stress injuries
Shoulder, Back and Knee pain
Deep Edema and sports injuries
Lower back pain
Knee and foot pain
Relief of muscle and joint pain
Skin infections, including cold sores, warts, verruca
Relief of stiffness
Promotion of muscle relaxation
